Resources for Architects and Builders

Most people know how Transitions helps its customers regain access to buildings through stair lifts, wheelchair lets, and elevators, but what may be surprising to some is just how many resources we share with architects and builders.

At Transitions, we're all about helping with accessibility issues in any way we can. The more education there is about how lifts and elevators work and where they fit best into buildings, the easier it will be for them to be integrated where they can help people with accessibility needs.

Do you have questions about ASME A.17 and ASME A.18 elevator & lift code? Do you need to know more about ADA compliant equipment options for renovations or new build construction? At Transitions, we have years of experience that allows us to maintain our place as the community custom lift and elevator specialists in Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati, Dayton, and all areas in between those cities.

To that end, we offer AIA Continuing Education Courses in Home Elevator Design and ADA and ANSI A117.1 Design Standards for Platform Lifts & LU/LA Elevators. These are our Lunch & Learn presentations, which are free and count toward AIA Continuing Education credit. Plus, we provide typical drawings and specs in DWG or PDF via our website.

If you are an architect or builder and have any questions about stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, or elevators, feel free to contact us here at Transitions. We can help you understand everything, from the structural demands required to the overall installation process and its ramifications on buildings. We hope to hear from you in the future!
