Toll Free: On November 9, 2013, the Transitions Walk for a Cure team will be participating in a one-mile walk at Rupp Arena to help raise money and awareness for the ALS Association in the fight against ALS.
For anyone who visits our page and donates, we will match the donation amount. In addition, we will offer our supreme gratitude for your generosity of spirit. With your help, we can meet and exceed our fundraising goal of $1,750.00.
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages two to five years from the time of diagnosis.
With your help, however, we can remedy this. Scientists and doctors are searching for a cure and other ways to mitigate this terrible disease’s effects. By donating, you are helping to fund the next steps in finding a solution to a disease that strikes a new person every ninety minutes.
We’re looking for new members to join our team during the upcoming walk. Won’t you please consider accompanying us for a morning of fun for a good cause. Check-in time is at 8:30 A.M., and the walk begins at 10:00 A.M. If you can’t make it, you can still donate to our team and help us achieve our goal.
